Feautred Article: Intercession

What is intercession? According to the dictionary, it is the act of interposing or pleading on behalf of another; it is a prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another. Though Christians normally associate intercession as “praying for others,” intercession often takes place between human beings. When people testify in court as a character reference, they are interceding for that person. In the Bible, a prominent example of intercession is when Abigail intercedes for husband Nabal with David before David became king.

Prayers for the nation, the renewal and reformation of its citizens, the rebuilding of its borders so that we do not lose our identity and values as people come over without naturalization, the revival of its economy, the renewal and reformation of its leadership -- President, Congress, Judiciary.

Summer and Fall Events

People often say that Northern Minnesota has two seasons: winter and one day of summer somewhere around August 3. Though that is a bit exaggerated, our summers are so short and so beautiful that most of us try to cram as many vacations, cookouts, and golfing, hiking, or fishing excursions as we can. Anything to get our souls out into God's great outdoors.

Annual Cornerstone Praise & Picnic

Cornerstone's Annual Picnic and Praise Service will be combined with the Praise of the 24/7 Prayer Committee on Friday, July 17 at 5 PM to 8 PM at Buena Vista Ski Resort. Again, it will be under the big tent, weather permitting. Believers and seekers from all traditions are cordially invited to participate in the free food, the testimonies, the fellowship, the singing, and the prayers.

Bemidji State Park Service

Cornerstone is responsible for the Sunday Worship at Bemidji State Park on Sunday, July 5, 2009. We chose this date because we believed that many people would be out at the State Park on the Independence weekend. National Christian leaders, in the wake of our nation's peril, have called for congregations over the United States to fall on their knees and to pray for the church to repent. So our service will also include a time for on-our-knees prayer as well as praise.

Cornerstone, though a small fellowship, wants to open its doors and heart to all people in and around our community.
